Palo Santo is a candle like no other palo santo candle in the market. Believe me, I have researched and am constantly exploring the market.
I grew up in South America, so I should know what real palo santo smells like. Besides burning the sticks on an almost daily basis at home, where I was raised, we had all sorts of utensils crafted from the wood; it was — and still is — very popular and ubiquitous in our culture.
Because no palo santo candle or fragrance out there satisfied me, I decided to make my own, building the formula around genuine palo santo essential oil from Ecuador and Perú in this blend, along with other exceptional materials that you can discover in the Scent Pyramid drop-down menu below. I also added a blog post about it, which you can find at the bottom of this page.
This fragrance is not available at retail. You will notice its different price point from others on this website, and it is partly my response to the current status quo. Instead of increasing my MSRP, I decided to launch fragrances at a different price point.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
- Trim the wick up to 1/8” before each use. Pick out any burnt wick remains from the melted wax before it cools off with a teaspoon or other utensil.
- Place on a heat-resistant surface and rotate often for an even melt, watch for drafts from windows or AC units.
- To avoid tunneling, always burn to a full pool of melted wax. This candle size develops a full pool at approximately 3 hours of constant burning.
- Keep away from children, pets and drafts.
- To upcycle your vessel, look for instructions in the next drop down menu, or the scent-flyer included in the box.

Palo Santo Inspiration And Aromatic Profile
Palo Santo is one of the few candles you will find in the market that contains real essential oils from two varieties in Ecuador and Perú. Loved for centuries, burning the sticks is associated with spiritual and physical healing, and good intentions. The wood itself was taken to Europe most likely by Jesuit monks, as an alternative to costly frankincense. There are differences between the wood smell and the essential oils, the oils are very sharp, bitter, spiced and citrusy, owing to the high percentage of chemical constituents like caryophyllene and limonene. Because it is far more bitter than the wood, it is not an easy material to work with. I sweetened it with tuberose and violet accords, and the presence of white agarwood and a deep oud accord help anchor its wood base.
Palo Santo is classified as a woodsy, resinous fragrance with floral and lactonic accords.
