Citrine Stone Riser

Citrine, a yellow colored quartz, is one of the hardest minerals, at 7 in the mohs scale. The presence of iron gives its characteristic yellow coloration.

Sometimes citrine can be found natural, and it can also be obtained by heating amethyst or smoky quartz. It is usually found in the same deposits as these other stones, and it was named after the word citron, for "lemon."

Used in Greece since the Hellenistic period (4th to the 1st Century B.C.) in carvings and jewelry, and in Egypt as a talisman, it has been long associated with calming anger and attract prosperity.
