Tormenta Inspiration And Aromatic Profile
Tormenta is a modern amber/ chypre fragrance anchored in patchouli and oakmoss, with the novelty of using birch leaf and magnolia accords at the top notes, instead of the usual bergamot, present in amber or chypre formulations.
Similarly, instead of labdanum at its core, I used calamus root, which gives a drier and more leathery connotation to the whole composition. The smells of wet soil and a garden during a thunderstorm, the inspiration behind it, today remind me of growing up and witnessing cyclone storms in the Pampas.
I know today that the electrical charge in the air and the water excite molecules not only in the air, but at their source, in flowers, grasses, trees, and herbs. Once my nose learned to shut down everything else around me, I was able to identify the chorus of a myriad of accords, of all the plants in my garden, singing along the tapping of the rain.
