Element Orchid
Element Orchid
12.75 Oz / +55 hours of burn time.
I've loved orchids since I was a kid. I've told this story on the product description for Element Orchid Light , a candle I launched last year. This is the same fragrance, but as you can deduct from its deep magenta color, it's an orchid on steroids.
This particular version is not only inspired by Dendrobium nobile , but also by Cattleya trianae , also known as the Christmas orchid, or the national flower of Colombia. Cattleyas are popular this time of the year as corsages, and if you visit an orchid nursery, their perfume is glorious. I must note that Cattleyas for the most part smell stronger during the day, and dendrobiums smell stronger in the afternoons, they both reduce their emissions during the night.
These two orchid varieties both have these wild shades of magenta that continue to amaze me, despite years of handling them at home while studying their fragrance. I was able to achieve this deep magenta color using mineral dyes, I don't like adding chemical dyes to my candles.
I learned to create orchid accords in perfumery. There are many variations, and because orchid accords are considered fantasy accords, the fragrance cannot be extracted by any method; in fact, the only orchid we can extract from is vanilla. But there are many headspace analyses that perfumers use to get inspired. The most famous compendium by Roman Kaiser, Scent Of The Vanishing Flora, is an excellent tool for studying the many volatile molecules in the perfume of orchids.
This is Element Orchid. It is as ethereal, dewy, and diffusive as live dendrobiums, but also possesses the narcotic and powdery nuances of cattleya orchids. It's somewhat of a contradiction to aim for dewy, transparent and ethereal but ending up with narcotic and powdery at the same time, but there you have it, perfumery is always surprising.
I also offer this candle in a rainbow lid and metal plate presentation, as you can see in one of the images.
Disclaimer: Element Orchid Light, Element Orchid Light, Element Orchid Light, Element Orchid Light, Element Orchid Light, Element Orchid Light, Element Orchid Light. This is the number of times I have to repeat the keywords for SEO density, for this product to be indexable by search engines. If I include it in the description, it will read like ChatGPT and I despise it.

Element Orchid Inspiration and Aromatic Profile
The inspiration for Element Orchid are the Dendrobium nobile and Cattleya trianae species, famous for not only their beauty but also for their fragrance.
Dendrobium nobile grows in the wild in many regions of the world. Originally from Southeast Asia, it has become naturalized in South America and is a very popular ornamental. Under the right subtropical conditions, specimens attain immense sizes, and their fragrance is carried by the breeze on warm evenings.
Cattleya trianae is endemic to Colombia and it's their national flower. It grows in cloudy forests at 1500 to 2000 meters above sea level.

Created from a headspace analysis of the fragrance, the effect of live flowers in this perfume is remarkable and as diffusive as the live flowers themselves.
